How To Change Your Business for the Better In Four Weeks
Has your business become stagnant? Maybe things are going well, but you think it's time for a change. Even if you do think your business is running well, it's good to take a deep look at it. This helps you see what you're doing right and what you can improve upon.
Here's a simple four week plan which will help you dig deeper and get your business running better than ever:
Week 1: Look at the numbers. Evaluate your business plan, past year and financial numbers. It's hard to know where you want to go if you're not sure what you've already done. If you feel like you're not profiting, check your numbers to see how much is actually coming in and going out. Maybe it's more than you thought. If it's not, you can take steps to cut out some non-essential services. Be sure not to drop things like business insurance and don't dip into money that you set aside for taxes. If necessary, change your business plan to be in line with your current vision for the company. Also consider your ideal client or customer. Write out a detail of who he or she is so you can better serve them.
Week 2: Implement the changes you need to make. Do you need more financial margin? Go through expenses and cut back. Are you getting behind on customer emails? Set up a system to help deal with them. Do customers state their frustration with your online ordering system? Find someone who can help you fix it so you don't waste time or lose customers.
Week 3: Get more, and better, customers. Now that you have a renewed vision for your company, it's time to market, market, market. Use your customer profiles from week one to come up with ways to market to your target customer. Are they on Instagram? If so, ramp up your visibility there. Are you a local business who relies heavily on word of mouth? Start pounding the pavement to meet new people. Ask loyal customers for referrals, and reward them for their help.
Week 4: Follow up with potential clients and customers. Now that you've started marketing, it's time to turn leads into paying clients. Call them and ask them for the sale. Let them know how your product or service benefits them. How it gives them back precious time, or helps them save money in the long run. It may be challenging to do this at first. Practice with a few friends first to get comfortable. Then get busy; set a goal to call 30 people within two hours.
This simple four week plan will help you get your business heading in the right direction so that you can be as successful as possible. As always, keep your business insurance active to ensure your improvements have protection.
